Scheduled for release in our market on 11 December 2020, the pre-order day on 12 November was rather successful, given that all pre-order units were pretty much sold out everywhere. Some even lined up as early as 3 AM to secure their pre-order unit but still, looks like someone else has got her hands on the first official Malaysian unit of the console: Jokes aside, it is interesting to see that Sony Interactive Entertainment is leaning toward musicians to market PS5. Before Yuna, SIE tapped Singaporean singer JJ Lin who done claim was said to be the first in Asia to obtaine the new console and also involved in the slightly controversial PS5 Asia Celebration event. On a global scale, SIE has picked up Travis Scott as a “strategic creative partner” which resulted in this rather unusual “unboxing” mini-film. Given that, we don’t really know what to expect from this new collaboration between PlayStation Asia and Yuna but we believe music will likely be the centre of it despite PS5 being all about the next-generation gaming.
