The disruption first took place sometime before 8:00 PM today, according to multiple reports by users in Lowyat.NET Forums. Not long after, reports of a fibre cut incident in Perak (which was yet to be confirmed at that time) have begun to make their way through social media.
One of them comes in the form of a screenshot that seems to be taken from WhatsApp and claimed that the service disruptions in the Northern region were caused by a fibre cut incident in Tanjung Malim, Perak. The other report seems to be an internal report and stated that the fibre cut incident happened around 38km from Sitiawan due to vandalism. It also said that multiple links between Tanjung Malim and Tapah were having issues as well.

While the company’s technical team are already at the scene to rectify the situation, it is not able to provide any estimated recovery time at the moment due to the complexity of the repair works.
