In a lengthy interview on the Dan Allen Gaming YouTube channel, the voice of Solid Snake, David Hayter said that he’s heard from insiders that it may actually be happening. He acknowledges that while it’s still a rumour, it may carry more weight since it’s now an industry rumour. He also mentions that, should the Metal Gear Solid remake actually happen, it’s likely that it will need new voice clips. Hayter says that the recording quality of the old games just doesn’t compare to today’s games. And even the re-recorded lines for The Twin Snakes for the GameCube would not be good enough. Konami has previously been very apprehensive about outsourcing its IPs to other developers. This would naturally apply to heavy hitters like the Metal Gear Solid franchise. But according to VGC, the Japanese publisher may be softening its stance. This is especially following the poor showing of both Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps. Hopefully this rumour actually yields some fruit at the end of it all. (Source: Dan Allen Gaming / YouTube via VGC)
