Unlike its VR headsets which essentially strap the phone around a wearer’s face, this AR headset looks a lot more like standard glasses. The only obvious giveaway appears to be the cable that’s coming out of the right side of the headset. The projection screens also sit behind each lens.
Likely the most interesting part about this patent is the fact that it comes with a 3D render of the AR headset. It’s unusual for a patent diagram to go so far. On a related note, the patent was filed back in February and granted in August. Despite the 3D render, this may not be a product that Samsung intends to put on shelves.
