Before you use the app though, you’ll first need to calibrate it using a traditional blood pressure monitoring cuff. After that’s done, the Galaxy Watch Active2 then gives you a reading based on your blood pressure changes in relation to the readings during calibration. It’s a convenient way to have your blood pressure measured, for sure. But despite this, even with the Galaxy Watch Active2 and the Health Monitor app, you should only be taking readings as you would when using a standard cuff. That is, you should only be measuring your blood pressure while at rest. The app gets the Galaxy Watch Active2 to measure blood pressure using pulse wave analysis. This is the same tech that’s used by the heart rate monitoring sensor. But for accuracy, the company says you’ll have to recalibrate the app at least every four weeks. Samsung says it will be making the Health Monitor app available on the Galaxy Watch Active2 within the third quarter of the year. The company will also be making the app available for upcoming Galaxy Watch devices. (Source: Samsung)
