To recap, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is equipped with a notched 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90 Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy A53 5G features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for its front-facing camera. Both smartphones are equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 processor, which is paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage-wise, the former receives 128GB of internal storage, while the latter gets 256GB. Another similarity is their 5,000 mAh battery capacity with 25 W fast charging support, as well as water and dust resistance rating of IP67. In terms of imaging, the Galaxy A33 5G packs a quad-camera setup which consists of a 48 MP main shooter alongside an 8 MP ultra-wide, 5 MP macro, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A53 5G, on the other hand, also comes with quad-cameras but with a larger 64 MP primary, which is paired together with a 12 MP ultra-wide, 5 MP macro, and a 5 MP depth sensor. In front, the former model features a 13 MP selfie camera, whereas the latter has a 32 MP shooter instead. With this recently announced pricing update, Samsung is now offering the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A53 5G at RM 1,349 and RM 1,699 respectively. For your reference, the smartphones are previously priced at RM 1,499 and RM 1,849, which equates to a reduction of RM 150 for both models. Granted, the price cut isn’t too drastic of a change, but you’ll still be saving a good sum of money nonetheless. Additionally, Samsung is also offering a rebate of up to RM 150 if you wish to trade-in your existing device for the Galaxy A33 or Galaxy A55. However, keep in mind that this option is a limited time promotion which is set to expire on 30 September 2022. (Source: Samsung Malaysia press release / official website [1] [2])
