The trademark application was first posted on Twitter via _the_tech_guy (@_the_tech_guy). According to the document, the phone’s name is simply called the POCO F2, while the trademark date of application was made on 4 December last year. Around the same time that Tse began teasing its existence.
So the POCO series exists and POCO F2 is coming soon …..#xiaomi #pocoPhone #POCOF2 pic.twitter.com/3JDwplv9IJ — the_tech_guy (@_the_tech_guy) January 11, 2020 While this may seem like a coincidence, _the_tech_guy had graciously pointed out that Xiaomi had filed a trademark application for both the Pocophone branding and Pocophone F1 back in 2018. Just before its official launch back in August 2018. Sadly, the patent application itself doesn’t provide any details about the Pocophone F2, innards or camera modules. However, if the phone is to follow in the footsteps of the F1, it’s possible that we could be looking at a phone sporting either a Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 865 SoC, at least 6GB RAM, at main camera module with a 48MP sensor, bare minimum.
As these things go, there’s still no official word from Xiaomi about the device. Therefore, do take this bit of news with a healthy dose of scepticism until then. (Source: Twitter via GSMArena)
