The mode is being developed “with the help of experts from the World Health Organisation, the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, and more”. It will come as a free update to all owners of the game, but no release date was announced yet. The dev will announce more details later.
It’s an interesting direction for Plague Inc to take, to be sure. For one, it’s going in a completely different direction. But on the other hand, it makes the game more complete, allowing you to play both sides, as it were, for a different perspective. And it’s especially fitting that mode comes out now, amidst panic caused by a global pandemic. But naturally, you shouldn’t be taking this as a source of information. Plague Inc previously added anti-vaxxers to the game, making it a better real-world reflection of the spread of diseases. (Source: Ndemic Creations via PC Gamer)
