The Panasonic LUMIX G100 sports a 4/3 20MP sensor, which is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30 and 24fps and 1080p at 60fps. It has an ISO range of up to 25,600 and features a 5-axis hybrid image stabiliser (IS). On its back is a 3-inch free-angle 1.84-million-dot screen that can be flipped out. For audio, the G1000 sports Nokia’s OZO Audio which uses 3 microphones to record high-quality spatial sound. Feature-wise, the camera includes a new Video Selfie mode that enables the user to capture both themselves and the background in sharp focus without having to manually adjust the aperture. Others include Frame Maker which assists the user to determine the composition of popularly used aspect ratios while recording, RED Frame Indicator to notify if the camera is recording, and other shooting modes such as slow/quick motion footage, timelapse, and 4K PHOTO which extracts images from footages.

In terms of connectivity, the LUMIX G100 features Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI, and USB support. The latter can also be used to charge the camera, and an AC connection is available as an alternative.

Along with the camera reveal, Panasonic also announced the new DMW-SHGR1 Tripod Grip that can be used with the LUMIX G100. On top of doubling as a tripod, the grip connects to the camera via USB and can be used to issue controls such as video/ photo capture and enabling or disabling sleep mode. The new Panasonic LUMIX G100 will include a 12-32mm f/3.5 – 5.6 kit lens and is priced at USD750 (~RM3,215). Optionally, a bundle with the Tripod Grip is also available and will retail at USD800 (~RM3,430). The camera’s availability in Malaysia has not been confirmed at this time.
