Some of which even threatened to cancel their Nitro subscriptions if the company added NFT or crypto-based integrations to its platform. Meanwhile, gaming news curator Ryan Brown claims that sources told him that Citron’s tweet also resulted in a disparity among Discord’s staff, while “big game studio reps” threatened to migrate their communities to other platforms.

The CEO also added that the company is currently focusing on improving the platform in the interest of protecting its users from spam, scams, and fraud. It is actually unsurprising if Discord did actually consider implementing NFT or cryptocurrency features to its platform. Crypto-based trends (especially NFTs) have been on the rise as of late, with brands such as the NBA and comic book giant DC also hopping onto the bandwagon. Meanwhile, app reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong discovered that Twitter is allegedly working on a new feature that would allow its users to showcase their NFT collection on the platform.
