Just like the current model, the new Surface Laptop 4 still can be obtained with either a 13.5 or 15-inch PixelSense touch display that also supports Surface Pen. For the 13.5-inch variant, it can be obtained with Intel Core i5-1135G7, Core i7-1185G7, or AMD Ryzen 5 4680U while on the larger 15-inch model, there is also the Ryzen 7 4980U option alongside the Core i7-1185G7.
Memory-wise, customers can get their hands on Surface Laptop 4 with either 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of RAM although this depends on the respective processors. This also applies to its solid state drive which includes 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB but unfortunately, the 128GB option seems to have been left out of the picture by Microsoft. In terms of battery, the Surface Laptop 4 still carries the same 48Whr battery as per its predecessor but the newer 11th Gen Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 4000 Series processors may have helped extend its battery life. On the 13.5-inch variant, it can go up to 19 hours with Ryzen and 17 hours on the Core chip. Similarly, the Ryzen-based 15-inch model can be pushed up to 17.5 hours while the equivalent Core variant can go up to 16.5 hours. These battery life claims are indeed significantly higher than the Surface Laptop 3 which maxed out at 11.5 hours regardless of the processor options. In terms of pricing, the Surface Laptop 4 starts at USD 999 (~RM 4,125) in the United States. However, its availability in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment since Surface Laptop 4 has yet to appear on Microsoft Malaysia’s website. (Source: Microsoft.)
