JPJ will be focusing on spotting nine main traffic offences that have been found to be the cause of fatal traffic accidents. Some of the offences include not wearing safety helmets or seat belts, over-taking at double lines, violating traffic lights, using a phone while driving, and overloaded commercial vehicles. The operation which will last until 9 May already kicked into high gear as 508 summonses have already been issued from 9 PM to 12 AM on the first day of the operation alone to 279 out of 1,137 vehicles that were inspected for various offences, including driving without a license and expired road tax. The department also recently asked members of the public to help with its Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri by reporting any traffic violations they witness through the e-Aduan section of the JPJ Info app although this feature is only available for Android at the moment.
