The leakster released four images on their Twitter account, showcasing the alleged Leica Q2 007 Edition in different angles, as well as revealing its suitcase packaging. If this leak is to be believed, this version of the camera is likely to be a collaboration between Leica and the upcoming No Time To Die film. The new James Bond movie was originally slated for an April release, but was delayed to 11 November 2020.

Based on the photos provided, the Q2 limited edition features a new green colour scheme with 007 branding on the top and on the back of its body, as well as including a Bond-themed mount cap. The leak also showcased what appears to be a carrying case for the camera that is also decked out in the same green colour.

It is not known if the 007 Edition will differ in terms of hardware specifications. To recap, the Leica Q2 is equipped with a 47.3MP full-frame sensor, a 3.68MP OLED EVF, and a 3-inch LCD touchscreen display. Kitted together with the camera is a Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH prime lens with macro capability. Given Nikoshita’s track record of releasing leaks of devices just days or weeks prior to their official announcements, it is possible that we’ll be hearing from Leica regarding the 007 Edition Q2 soon enough. Naturally, we’ll be expecting the company to reveal the camera’s pricing and availability at that time as well. For your reference, the original Leica Q2 is currently priced at RM23,250 in Malaysia.
