As per its most recent announcement on YouTube, EA will be making the open beta available to gamers from 8 October until 9 October. Like all open betas, players will have access to a limited amount of content for play testing. In the case of BF 2042, gamers will only be able to play a single mode, and on a single map: Conquest Mode and on the Orbital Map, which is set in Kourou, French Guiana. Additionally, the number of players will be limited to just 64 players on the PC, while that number is halved for players on the Xbox One and PS4. In order to give players a taste of BF 2042’s unique Specialists classes, the open beta will also give players access to four specialists: Webster Mackay, Maria Falck, Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsy, and Wikus “Casper” Van Daele. On a related note, EA has also released the system requirements of the open beta, for those among you who are planning to play the game on PC. According to the stats sheet, minimum requirements needed to run the game is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i5-6600K, 8GB RAM, either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560, and 100GB of storage space. Of course, for a more optimal experience, the recommended requirements says that your PC should be running an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-47090, 16GB RAM, either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT, and 100GB of SSD storage.
