Equipped with a 32-inch IPS panel that has a native resolution of 6016 x 3384 together with thin display bezels that measure at 9 mm, the Pro Display XDR is said to be the largest Retina Display that Apple has made so far. With a peak brightness of 1600 nits, the display able to achieve sustained brightness level of 1000 nits alongside 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Colour calibrated right at the factory, the Pro Display XDR has true 10-bit colour depth and a P3 wide colour gamut. Not only that, the True Tone-capable display also comes with several reference modes that users can choose to tune the Pro Display XDR to match the assignment that they are working on, or they can also craft their own custom reference modes. Just like the new Mac Pro, the lattice design on the back of the Thunderbolt 3-based display is meant to promote airflow which subsequently help cool down the display. For such a purpose-built display, one might expect it to come with a nicely designed stand too but that is not the case for Pro Display XDR though.
By default, the display doesn’t come with any stand or mounting. Instead, users need to purchase the stand which is called the Pro Stand separately for USD 999 (about RM 4,166). According to Apple, the stand is equipped with a magnetic connector that allows the Pro Display XDR to be easily removed for transport. The stand also allows Pro Display XR to be rotated from landscape to portrait position and also offers adjustable tilt as well as height level. Also available for the display is the VESA Mount Adapter option which carries a price tag of USD 199 (about RM 830) and equipped with the same magnetic connector as per Pro Stand.
To be made available later this year, the Pro Display XDR itself is priced at USD 4,999 (about RM 20,839) for the standard finish while the variant with nano-texture glass goes for USD 5,999 (about RM 25,007). (Source: Apple.)
