In general, the new 6th generation model costs an additional RM 600 to RM 700 when compared with the price tag of its predecessor. This is how they looked like when put next to each other: Wi-Fi 64GB: RM2,299 (equivalent 5th gen variant: RM1,699) Wi-Fi 256GB: RM2,949 (RM2,349) Cellular 64GB: RM2,949 (RM2,249) Cellular 256GB: RM3,599 (RM2,899) The increase in pricing is not exactly surprising though given how the 6th generation iPad mini is vastly different from the older models. Aside from featuring a brand-new design that seemed to be largely inspired by the iPad Pro, the new model comes with a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display and is powered by an A15 Bionic chip. Equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide front camera and 12MP rear camera together with 4K video recording capability, the 6th generation iPad mini also supports 5G and 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Just like the 4th generation iPad Air and iPad Pro models, the latest iteration of the iPad mini is also equipped with a USB-C port and comes standard with a 20W USB-C power adapter. Despite not having a Home button, the 6th generation iPad mini still relies on Touch ID instead of Face ID though. Its fingerprint sensor has been integrated into its top button which is similar to the 4th generation iPad Air. Even though the company has revealed the local pricing for the tablet in Malaysia, its actual release date is still unknown for the time being. We will keep you posted once you hear more, so stay tuned. (Source: Apple Malaysia.)
